   1. Inner Sadhana (Age Limit: 35-55)

(Jan 02 – Feb 15)

This experiential course provides change-related healing and insight, while also further equipping those who are involved in leadership roles, formation work, etc. It also assists those weary from the ministry, who need to refocus themselves. Vipassana, the Journal retreat or Affect Regulating, gently activates the inward passage. As the inner path is accessed, it brings to consciousness insight into one’s own patterns of speaking and behaving and invites change through individual therapeutic processing done in group. Via the same processes, one is led to discover helpful means of relating with oneself, others and with the Transcendent. Moderate input on Individual and Family Lifespan, Relational Sexuality, Myers Briggs Type Indicator or Midlife is provided to understand the above processes and to facilitate the participant’s onward Sadhana.

   2. Drawing from the Depths

(arrival, Jan. 2, by 7 p.m., departure, Jan. 8, by 8 a.m.)

Using the non-analytical, non-diagnostic and integrative approach to life employed in the Intensive Journal, this retreat seeks to help participants learn to work with all of their life experiences, both positive and negative, to develop a basis for important life decisions.

   3. Ignatian PsychoSpirituality: A Process Retreat.

(March 18 - 29)

This retreat is a follow-up to a recent South Asian Assistancy level Jesuit Confluence on Ignatian Spirituality and Psychology. At the confluence, it was accepted that the two streams of Ignatian Spirituality and Psychology can and do meet for a person processing one’s inner world psychospiritually. As a way of applying that insight, this ten days Ignatian PsychoSpiritual Retreat will hopefully merge the two streams and provide such growth to the retreatant. A number of Jesuits interested in providing psychospiritual accompaniment will offer guided direction to two retreatants each during the ten days’ retreat. The retreat is open to anyone interested in making the psychospiritual directed retreat. The retreatant will be helped by the director to recognise how healing the psyche can enable spiritual growth as part of an ongoing psychospiritual process.

   4. Meaning Through Mid Years (Age Limit: 40-55)

(April 15 - 26 May)

PAs humans we are daily growing and transforming while passing through the various stages of development. The middle years are a time of affectually disturbed sexual, intellectual, physical, and spiritual energies. This course, with its emphasis on midlife development, becomes a time to harness together one’s scattered and underutilized resources from earlier stages of development and to direct them towards a meaningful second half of living. Besides theory, therapeutic processing in group, attends to past issues that might obstruct this meaning-seeking journey. The processing also facilitates conscious choices that could lead to accessing spiritual wholeness. Symbols and dreams of participants’ tend to become the vehicle for healing the past and dealing with resistances to an inner meaningful life ahead.

 6. Spirit of Tony – 25 Years
(June 1 to 5)

The 25th death anniversary of Tony de Mello will be on June 2nd, 2012. Sadhana Institute was established in its present location on 8th December, 1987, the same year when Tony passed over. We invite those who have participated in one of the courses guided by Tony, to a celebration from June 2 - 4, 2012. The three days of celebrating the Spirit of Tony de Mello will commemorate the psychospiritual freedom he assisted many in discovering through the Midi, Mini or Maxi Sadhana courses he himself directed. We will greatly appreciate it if those who have attended a Mini, Midi or Maxi Sadhana course with Tony, send us the name of the course attended, and the year, along with your postal information. Further, do send us similar details of those who were in your group, so we may send you all a formal invitation with other details for the occasion.

   7. Animating Community
(June 16 - 30)

Many religious communities consist of committed persons from diverse cultural backgrounds with varied personalities. Animating life and ministry in such communities continues to be a growing challenge and concern today. This course for community animators/superiors, ministry directors, and major superiors will provide insight into what causes one to speak and behave as one does while animating life in community and the ministry. The animator will also try to draw insight about other members in one’s community. In doing so she or he will better appreciate what possible resources exist in community and how to utilize them for harmony, unity and for more appropriate responses in the ministry. The participant will take away conscious skills to better animate and mobilize self and community.

   10. Essentials for Formators
(September 3 – December 15)

Over the years, we have observed that a Master’s level counselling programme is too wide and deep for all formators, youth animators, social workers, etc. to participate in, hence this shorter course, Essentials for Formators. The course will require the participants to enter into their own inner world in order to Draw from the Depths which will then enable their Personal Therapy, in group. By understanding one’s Individual Lifespan Development against the backdrop of the Family System, participants will hopefully be able to accompany others psychologically using skills of Basic Counselling and Spiritual Guidance. A grasp of some fundamentals of Indian Spirituality will provide the cultural backdrop to the course.
